"Another community" is the story of man's supreme sacrifice to save his city from the madness of communal violence. The nameless hero would ultimately save the city, because the common hatred was pressed by the force of evil. If he had lived, he would have pronounced a lie and saved the people. For him, there is nothing like your community or mine. We are all from this country. Me, my wife and my children.

Short Story Of Another Community

You and your wife and children. Let us not reduce each other. No matter who cuts out: that's all the same for me. But we must not, we must not, we must not. Rumors, half-truths and even false emoticons the most sensitive communal problems and explode them out of control to prevent the flaming of arson, rape and mentality from causing the death of innocent people . Tensions and communal riots are still the curses of Indian society.

R.K.Narayan treats a delicate issue in a balanced way. The caste or community of the hero is deliberately not mentioned. The time is October 1947, shortly after independence and partition of the subcontinent. The suffering of an ordinary person in the wake of communal tension is described convincingly without sentimentality.

Another community is the story of man's self-sacrifice to save his city from communal violence. The hero of the story is unnamed in order to keep his community and caste unidentified. The hero worked as a clerk in the office of an insurance company for a monthly payment of Rs 100. His move from youth to middle age was at the same seat in his office. He lived in a small house sufficient for his wife and four children. Still, he felt puzzled when some guests came to stay with him. His life was on the whole peaceful and happy until October 1947, when people began to behave like savages.

The author ironically declares that one or several bodies have killed a body of men a thousand miles away, and the result was that they repeated the evil here and were revenged. The author observes that an evil action in a distant place
Found a corresponding echo. The temperament of the neighbors increased when they read the newspaper every day. They waited impatiently for vengeance. People who were friends behaved in a new way: we are from a community and they are from another community.
All This disturbed the hero. He visualized the madness of communal violence unleashed on innocent lives like that of the little girl of his colleagues. Such fantasies have caused the hero to constantly blow, "God forbade it." He tried to console his friends by Telling them that such acts of violence would not occur in their locality. But his men were organizing for violence. All this seemed terrifying to the sensitive temperament of the hero. Life seemed to be unbearable for him. People were talking to him Secret. Everyone seemed to him a potential murderer.

The atmosphere was overloaded with fear and suspicion. The hero has avoided meeting someone, lest they spread wild stories. They always talked about someone stabbed on the street or a woman Attack. Such discussions have made our hero nervous and he has lost his taste for eating and sleeping.

Every time he looked at his wife and children, he was afraid that there would be a danger to them. He visualized the terrified screams of his daughter and his wife. He continued to fall into half-sleep and woke up. He shuddered even at the slightest noise And went to the window to see if any violence had been committed. That's when people mentioned next Wednesday, the 29th of the month as a critical day. The common problem was supposed to be settled forever that day.

Everyone spoke of the 29th. The hero's uncle, who is a leader of their community, asserted that the tension would be resolved forever that day. He was determined to erase the city from cleaning the other community because they were only a minority. He began to make frantic calculations. He was eagerly awaiting zero time (that is, the time at which an important event should take place). He wondered if one member of the community was whipping another's cheek. After all, his community would not take the initiative. Our hero raised his doubt: "Suppose nothing happens?" But his uncle told him it was not possible. His justification was that the other community held secret meetings at midnight.

Communal propaganda charged with hatred continued. Our hero's uncle said, "We are not asking for problems, but if something happens, we will finish them. It will work like a push button, but we will avoid the initiative as much as possible ". On the 29th most shops and schools remained closed as a precaution. The children noticed with fury that there would be a fight that day. The hero's wife tried to dissuade him from going to the office that day. But he laughed at his warning but suggested he keep his children inside.

Most of the colleagues in the office were on leave under several pretexts. The few who discussed the horrific possibilities of the day. Our hero hated such discussions. He plunged into the work. It was getting dark when he got up from his seat. He was eager to get home. The usual itinerary seemed to him laborious. Then he took the short-shorts loaded with gutters and was threatened by street dogs. The cyclist who came stopped his progress. He ran his wheels between the legs of our hero. The hero had to exchange words with the cyclist. The cyclist lost his temper and struck the hero on his face.Someone among the assembled crowd shouted that the cyclist dared to attack the hero in his own locality.

They decided to teach the other classmates a lesson. Cries and screams increased. Someone hits the hero. He saw a knife lit up. He felt his end coming. He tried to give a lesson to the crowd of the futility of violence and wanted them to stop fighting all at once. But it was too late. He was surrounded, his eyes collapsed and he felt very light. He mumbled that he would never tell his uncle what had happened, lest he be responsible for starting the problem.

He would tell his uncle that he fell down the office stairs and injured himself. The nameless hero would ultimately save the city from violence because the common hatred was pressed by the forces of evil. If he had lived, he would have pronounced a lie with the leaders of the community and would have spared them destruction.
